Question and Answers
1. What trigger wheels does KAM support - eg 36-1 etc?
We support a 36-4 trigger wheel, we are considering a 60-2 wheel
2. Does it support LOW and HIGH impedance injectors?
Both, the drivers sync up to 20A and support peak and hold with programmable peak time and hold current in 6.25% increments.
3. Does KAM support auto tuning for Fueling?
We support individual tuning of each cylinder through wide band O2 (8 channels built into the box) and EGT (12 channels built into the box) Also, the timing of each cylinder can be trimmed +/- 4 degrees in .1 degree increments
4. Does the crank / cam sensor support VR as well as Hall sensors etc?
We support Hall effect and inductive pickups on both but, we strongly suggest Hall effect on the Cam sensor if distributorless ignition is to be used.
5. Can you send me a copy of the tuning software so I can see the user interface?
yes
6. Will KAM support staged sequential injection?
We have a timing curve on the injector that allow fuel to be timed with the valve opening. The injectors are sequential and can be parsed out if multiple injectors per cylinder are to be used. I don't understand what he means by staged.
7. Will KAM support high current (switched negative) for driving coils or is it only 5v for ignition?
Currently we only support 5v ignition but, the CPU was designed to support both. At this time there has been no advantage to the switched negative approach as the inductance of the wires back to the CPU decrease the effectiveness of the coils the 5v ignition seems to be a better approach.
